BakerRisk works closely with clients to identify and understand their explosion hazards, predict the effects of explosions such as blast loads and fragment generation, and devise prevention, mitigation or protection strategies. We have applied these methods on projects ranging from facility siting studies to the design of blast resistant structures and investigation of accidental explosions.
BakerRisk develops and applies models to predict the loads resulting from a variety of blast sources. These models range from engineering analysis tools, such as the Baker-Strehlow-Tang vapor cloud explosion (VCE) blast wave prediction methodology, to sophisticated computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and hydrodynamics codes. BakerRisk has published methodologies on VCE, bursting pressure vessel, building blast load, and others, which are widely referenced in the industry.
