Risk Based Facility Siting

BakerRisk's approach to Risk-based Facility Siting is based on the OSHA and API RP 752 documents suggesting that risk analysis be conducted on the risk to building occupants from an external explosion, fire, and toxic release. Many other methods fall short of taking a truly risk-based approach and instead focus primarily on explosion consequence, which results in only a cursory review of fire and toxic risks.

BakerRisk's approach analyzes all three threats: explosion, fire, and toxic releases. By addressing the full suite, all potential hazards can be addressed. BakerRisk develops risk mitigation measures designed to address the greatest risks first, providing the most cost-effective approach to reducing risks. BakerRisk has saved our clients millions of dollars utilizing this screening analysis approach in facility siting studies by avoiding unnecessary expenditures not warranted by the level of risk.
