Immediate full-time position available for an engineering technician in our San Antonio office. The primary responsibilities will support BakerRisk testing projects at the Wilfred E. Baker test facility and at the Nell Test Range.
This position entails performing tasks of limited scope assigned by project managers and engineers that require hands-on activities. Tasks assigned may include test preparation, test fixture fabrication, specific duties during testing, instrumentation installation, test result reporting, equipment maintenance, facility maintenance, and other activities that support engineering projects.
The work tasks are related to test preparation, conducting the tests, and clean-up of the test area. Preparation may include materials acquisition, fabrication of test articles, installation of test articles into the test apparatus, and installation of test instrumentation. Tasks during testing may include safety watch for the site, supervision of instrumentation, or control of the test apparatus. Cleanup may include removal of undamaged test specimens, demolition of damaged test specimens, or sweep up of test debris.
The position will also require equipment and facility maintenance which may at times include grounds maintenance. A minimum of two years experience in hands-on support as a testing technician or equivalent is required, including the use of common hand tools and power tools. Heavy lifting is required.
