BakerRisk Areas of Expertise
- Testing (SIN 871-4). Two field test ranges near San Antonio, Texas: a reactive chemicals testing lab, and a materials engineering and evaluation lab. BakerRisk has recently completed a new 160 acre test facility near San Antonio, Texas. Our test sites are used for a broad range of vapor cloud explosion tests, shock tube/structural tests, high pressure tests, and other specialized testing services. Many of our prediction and analysis methodologies are validated with BakerRisk test data and accident investigation results.
- Blast Effects and Explosion Testing (SINs 871-2, -3, -4 & -5). Identify explosion hazards and predict the effects of blasts/explosions and high pressure failures. Develop prevention, mitigation, and protection strategies. Testing may include instrumented mannequins for assessment of human response.
- Dynamic Structural Analysis and Design (SINs 871-2, -3 & -5). Analysis and design of structures to protect against airblast, fragment impact, explosion, high pressure, and other impulsive loads. These services include upgrades to existing structures and design of new structures. Analysis may include survivability modeling for assessment of human response.
- Process Safety (SINs 871-2 & -3). Expertise and services in the fields of hazards identification and consequence analysis, process safety management, facility siting studies, fire protection engineering, capital project design reviews, loss prevention engineering, safety instrumented systems, chemical reactivity and hazards testing, and other specialized engineering and consulting services.
- Risk Engineering (SINs 871-2 & -3). Quantitative risk assessments, mitigation assessment and cost benefit analysis, insurance risk engineering, pipeline risk analysis, security vulnerability assessments, and other specialized risk management services.
