BakerRisk Designs Baghdad DoS Office Building

BakerRisk completed design of an office building within the Green Zone in Baghdad, Iraq under contract through the United States Department of State, Agency for International Development (DoS/USAID). USAID needed to leave their current office quarters within one of Saddam's palaces before the new DoS Embassy construction was initiated. USAID requested expedited construction design drawings from BakerRisk within a two-month time frame to meet their schedule. BakerRisk’s design meets all current DoS design criteria for vehicle bomb and forced entry criteria, and includes a sacrificial roof slab to defeat prevalent mortar attack scenarios within Baghdad.
