Explosion Effects Testing

BakerRisk performs a variety of flammability and high explosive tests customized for our clients. Examples of these tests include: TNT equivalency tests on reactive chemicals; high-pressure flammability tests on special gas mixtures; pressure vessel rupture tests; and evaluations of blast mitigation techniques. Product tests involving accidental explosions have also been performed in support of litigation.

Our studies in vapor cloud explosion (VCE) testing have resulted in the Baker-Strehlow-Tang method as the best available technology for analyzing vapor release hazards or accidents. BakerRisk has performed numerous R&D tests on vapor cloud explosions to measure conditions under which a VCE produces damaging blast pressures, to evaluate the potential for highly damaging gaseous detonations, and to improve and validate predictive methods and computer models for analyzing VCEs.
