New Powder & Bulk Solids DHA paper & upcoming Conference

A new article titled, “Dust Hazard Assessment: Overview and Common Issues”, has been published in the latest edition of Powder & Bulk Solids Magazine. The author, Philip Parsons of BakerRisk, is a Senior Consultant who also recently co-authored a guidance book for the Center for Chemical Process Safety (CCPS) entitled “Guidelines for Combustible Dust Hazard Analysis”. (This book is available here.)

The article discusses NFPA standards that are enforced by OSHA through the Combustible Dust National Emphasis program, designed to ensure that at-risk facilities complete a Dust Hazard Analysis (DHA). This article covers recent updates to these industry standards, as well as identifying common issues encountered when performing DHA’s at solids-handling facilities.

This edition of Powder & Bulk Solids promotes their annual International Powder & Bulk Solids Conference & Exhibition (iPBS), which will be held in Rosemont, Illinois this year from April 24 – 26, 2018. Phil Parsons and other dust hazard specialists from BakerRisk will be at the BakerRisk booth during the conference exhibition (Booth # 3943).
