Papers and Conference Presentations
Mr. Connor is a member of BakerRisk’s Process Safety Group. His work focuses on Facility Siting Studies and Quantitative Risk Assessments at refineries, specialty chemicals, and petrochemical facilities. He also has experience with Process Hazard Analyses, Dust Hazard Analyses, Incident Investigations, Fire and Gas Detection, and Reliability Calculations.
Mr. Parsons is a member of the BakerRisk’s Blast Effects Group. His work focuses on performing siting studies and explosion hazard analysis projects in which he has predicted internal and external blast loads from deflagrations and detonations. He has performed over 250 Dust Hazard Analyses (DHA) as well as numerous incident investigations across a wide range of industries all over the world.
Mr. Parsons serves on the NFPA 654 Committee “Standard for the Prevention of Fire and Dust Explosions from the Manufacturing, Processing, and Handling of Combustible Particulate Solids”, “NFPA 61 Committee” Standard for the Prevention of Fires and Dust Explosions in Agricultural and Food Processing Facilities,” as well as on the NFPA 652 Committee “Standard on the Fundamentals of Combustible Dust”.
As the biofuels industry continues to expand in support of global decarbonization mandates and objectives, facility owners and developers are being challenged to balance production efficiency, operational reliability, and personnel safety.
As high hazard facilities, biofuels sites should focus on developing a fire protections strategy informed by performance-based analysis so strategies implemented meet the unique challenges found at each facility.
