What is needed to design and construct a blast resistant building?  This webinar will help answer question and will show the importance of keeping the blast resistant design in focus throughout the project.

For new buildings within refineries, chemical plants, and petrochemical sites, recent updates to the API RP 752 clarify that “new buildings intended for occupancy…shall be designed to meet the siting evaluation criteria”, including consideration for blast, thermal, and toxic hazards.  For manufacturing facilities where there is a potential for deflagration within a building, the International Building Code and NFPA 68/69 provide requirements for the building construction to resist blast loading.

The requirements are clear, yet the question remains – what is needed to ensure your blast resistant building meets the requirements?  BakerRisk has completed hundreds of blast resistant building designs, which in turn has shown us that a clear definition of requirements is only one of many important steps to ensure that the constructed building will provide the desired level of protection.  Join us to learn other important steps to ensure that your next blast resistant building project goes as planned.

Covered in this webinar:

  • Key documents guiding blast resistant design and construction
  • Examples of potential challenges throughout the project, from planning to design to construction
  • Key steps to ensure the constructed building meets the design intent
  • Real solutions that can be implemented to address the hazards at your facility
