Webinars
In this webinar, Phil Parsons will discuss what owner/operators should be aware of prior to performing a DHA. The webinar will include a review of how combustible dust hazards can manifest, a discussion on the relevant codes and standards, and common methods for performing a DHA. In addition, the webinar will illustrate some common deficiencies of perceived mitigated combustible dust hazards observed through performing hundreds of DHAs.
Mr. Parsons is a member of the BakerRisk’s Blast Effects Group. His work focuses on performing siting studies and explosion hazard analysis projects in which he has predicted internal and external blast loads from deflagrations and detonations. He has performed over 250 Dust Hazard Analyses (DHA) as well as numerous incident investigations across a wide range of industries all over the world.
Mr. Parsons serves on the NFPA 654 Committee “Standard for the Prevention of Fire and Dust Explosions from the Manufacturing, Processing, and Handling of Combustible Particulate Solids”, “NFPA 61 Committee” Standard for the Prevention of Fires and Dust Explosions in Agricultural and Food Processing Facilities,” as well as on the NFPA 652 Committee “Standard on the Fundamentals of Combustible Dust”.
Major updates to our patented Hazardous Area Classification (HAC) software are arriving soon. BakerRisk's HACTool© will now incorporate new updates aligned with the latest revisions of NFPA 497, NFPA 499, IEC 60079-10-1, and IEC 60079-10-2 standards.
Join BakerRisk’s Theresa Lewis, Michael Metcalfe-Smith, and Alexandre Cardoso, P. Eng., during which our experts will discuss why process safety management (PSM) is a critical component of safe growth in renewable fuel industries—even when not required—and how to effectively implement key PSM elements to support resilient, sustainable operations.
The webinar will highlight the release of our new best practice, “F&G Detector Mapping,” during which our experts will discuss the importance of incorporating fire & gas detection systems capable of detecting gas leaks, fires, and related hazards to reduce and mitigate risks at operating facilities.
Join BakerRisk consultants Roger Stokes and Rob Magraw as they deliver an introduction to incident investigations.
In this presentation, BakerRisk’s Travis Holland, P.E., M.S., and Brian Royo will deliver insights into Multi-Hazard Resistant Building (MRB) Design, key concepts of protective building design, and the dynamic response of different building materials to hazards common in processing facilities.
